Apple began accepting pre-orders for the iPhone X last week and it sold out within minutes. Users might feel a change in the color and hue when the display is viewed off angle.

The world's most popular flagship phones, the Apple iPhone X and Google Pixel 2 have faced the same issue which should obviously worry buyers. Apple claims that this is a normal occurrence among OLED displays.

Apple's official screen fix service for the iPhone X will cost consumers $279, and damage beyond the screen will set consumers back $549, Statista said. The brand's further advising owners to activate Auto-Brightness to adjust the light automatically and choose a short Auto Lock time so that the handset switches off when it's not in use. With the former, Apple explains that its OLED display is among the best in the industry, however a common characteristic of the technology is that color and hue shifting can be noticed when viewing the screen from side angles. According to the company, the new iPhone X model which sports a 5.8-inch OLED display sports a Super Retina display and this is the first time they have took a step towards adopting something completely new. "This is a characteristic of OLED and is normal behavior". For instance, the Apple Watch features an OLED screen along with the TouchBar on the new MacBooks. Apple has some advice about that OLED screen, namely that color and hue shifts, and perhaps a little bit of burn-in, are to be expected with this kind of display technology.

The document goes on to say that burn-in can occur in "more extreme cases such as when the same high contrast image is continuously displayed for prolonged periods of time", and that the iPhone X's display is engineered the "to be the best in the industry in reducing the effects" of burn-in. It will help enhance the life of the device and the display if users can avoid using the same image over and over again.

Lastly, if there is an app that keeps your display on for a longer period of time when the iPhone X is not in active use, you can temporarily reduce the brightness level using Control Center.
